RSA Exhibitor MBX Systems Manufactures Server Appliances for Leading Security Application Developers Attending RSA

MBX maintains double-digit growth in high-demand security verticals, presents a range of custom-branded server appliances for deploying security applications in RSA Booth #2538.

Wauconda, IL (April 16, 2009) — MBX Systems, server appliance manufacturer for many of the leading security application developers, provides an unusual perspective on the state of the security industry. One of a handful of OEM appliance manufacturers exhibiting at RSA Conference, MBX contends that the economy has had an inverse effect on many of its security-industry related customers, and positively contributed to the company’s 48-percent increase in appliances shipped in 2008.

Despite enterprises’ universal cutbacks brought on by the recession, MBX customers in the security industry averaged double-digit growth in appliance sales in 2008. For MBX, Q1 2009 resulted in the highest revenue to date in the company’s 14-year history.

“The need to protect enterprises against the rise in security threats, and the demand for reliable, secure applications to fulfill this need, explains why our customers are succeeding despite the economic downturn,” says Tom Crowley, MBX chief executive officer.

Crowley adds, “Appliance-based software appeals to companies dealing with IT departments that are under-staffed and under-funded. Fewer manpower resources are required to get an appliance functioning on the network which makes the application quick, easy and more economical to deploy.”

As the leading conference for computer and Internet security, MBX chose to participate in the RSA Conference exhibition to show the latest options available to application developers that currently rely on or are looking to deploy a server appliance for their security applications. These options include support for alternative application delivery methods such as Software as a Service (SaaS) and virtualization.

Located in booth #2538, MBX Systems deploys appliances for all types and sizes of security application developers, including many RSA exhibitors. These applications include network security, data security, spam filtering, wireless network security, biometric security, and homeland security, among others.

“The trends we see within our security-industry vertical markets indicate enterprises are still prioritizing their security needs,” notes Crowley. “In these tough economic conditions, enterprise data centers are looking for easy to deploy solutions that provide an aggressive approach against spammers and hackers, a win-win for MBX and our customers.”

Crowley will be at RSA on Wednesday and Thursday, April 22nd and 23rd, discussing the latest innovations in appliance-based software delivery.
