New Appliance Platforms from MBX Systems are Well-Suited for Security Applications Requiring Rigorous Certification

MBX COTS platforms help accelerate time to market for appliance-based software requiring higher levels of certification prior to deployment.

San Francisco, CA (March 1, 2010)

MBX Systems, a leading manufacturer of OEM appliance/dedicated computing and storage solutions, exhibiting this week at RSA® Conference 2010 booth 2525, has announced an expanded suite of commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) hardware platforms suited for security applications requiring rigorous certification for data security. RSA® Conference 2010 is taking place March 1 – 4 at the Moscone Center in San Francisco.

Certain security applications, such as systems installed in federal agencies or those that perform encryption or decryption of data, may be required to meet unique certification requirements for the software and hardware, for example FIPS-level certification. MBX Systems has taken hundreds of systems through a variety of rigorous testing processes for industry and country-level certification requirements.

Jill Bellak, MBX Systems Chief Operating Officer says, “The value we bring to the application developer is that we have dedicated personnel who work with government-approved testing labs every day. We know which appliance hardware will not only maximize the application’s performance but also minimize the time and effort of passing certification. The application developer’s only challenge is writing compliant software.”

MBX handles the full scope of hardware requirements and can provide factory-installed options such as intrusion protection, tamper-proof fasteners and labeling, key storage, and key generation. Since each appliance program is unique to the customer, MBX has the flexibility to offer additional support such as engineering services when a project reach is beyond the company’s capacity or expertise.

The combination of hardware solutions and program services MBX provides has supported the company through another record-setting year for revenues in 2009, and its 11th consecutive year of growth. Additionally, MBX was recently selected as a Hot Technology Companies Award finalist by Network Products Guide, based on the “ 4P ” selection criteria – Products, People, Performance, and Potential.
